Now that fall is here and all the holidays are upcoming, this tends to be the slowest time in real estate. If you are an agent or loan officer, working from commissions, it can be a stressful time of the year when it should actually be a fun time of the year.
Many people have started to ask me, “Are you slowing down?” They begin to get nervous and stressed.
How can you manage the slow time and turn it from always dreading this time of the year to turning it into a positive time of the year?
Stay Focused On Marketing
It is important to pick up your marketing through this time of the year because it picks right back up in mid January. Staying top of mind as the business cycle picks up will be critical or you will lose deals.
Here are some ways to keep prepared and stay positioned in the minds of clients for when they are ready:
1. Advertise a home decorating contest to your clients and your general database. Announce a winner on your website. Make it fun and draw people in to create engagement around your name and brand.
2. Throw a holiday client appreciation party. Make it a fun time of connecting people that would otherwise not have met. Help people find new business opportunities and personal relationships within your network.
3. Send out recipe cards. Share these out with ideas on how to prepare fun meals or give holiday gifts. You can tell your own stories of how you used these to make others happy.
The slow down time is predictable, but it can be a highly strategic time. While others are sitting on their hands you can prepare for business. Don’t stress. Think instead. Analyze your numbers, set your goals and base your expectations in reality. There may not be low hanging fruit, but your efforts will not be without reward.
Just keeping moving, and focus on the habits and systems you have built up in your career. You can make it happen, and enjoy the holidays, too.
